Abstract‌

Phaver is a multi-protocol web3 iOS/Android app live on the interoperable Lens and CyberConnect social protocols.

We believe a truly next-gen web3 social platform has to:

• Move the ownership of one’s social graph from the incumbent platforms to self-custody via permissionless protocols
• Share ownership and value for contributions to the network
• Reward people for creating real value for others, not for buzz or menial tasks
• Give people control over their own data
• Be inclusive and accessible to everyone

Value accrual in Web2 vs. Web3 social

We do not think of the metaverse as a 3D world nor do we think it will be built by the incumbent companies no matter what they call themselves. Metaverse will be the moment in time when your virtual persona becomes as or more important than your physical one.

This has already happened to many people who earn their living online but much of web2 has meant that anything done online is deemed a hobby and earning money with it is hard. Millions of TikTok creators, Wikipedia editors, Reddit mods, and others who dedicate time to helping or entertaining others generate revenue for platforms but are left to fend for themselves when it comes to earning income.

Phaver’s in-app economy aims to change that and reward both the curators of great content as well as the original creators, even if they originally published their content on a web2 platform.
